Almost all the various states, and the Federal Government, provide some means to protect contractors and suppliers who perform labor, or supply material and equipment, which benefits the owner of real property. The first step in understanding the law is identifying the parties involved and determining what party you are. The following are the most frequently used terms for the Mechanic’s Lien process.
